04.08.09 12:22:45 Quick update. My boss sent me a link to something very fun the other day and I'm just not getting around to using it. It's called Portable Ubuntu and it's starting to change my life. Here is the link for the LifeHacker article about it: LifeHacker Article Basically it installs Ubuntu right on your Windows box and adds a Linux toolbar to your desktop. From this tool bar you can launch Terminal, FireFox and all sorts of other Linux based apps. When the apps launch they show up just like a normal application in Windows. However it runs just like Linux. For example you can get into terminal and the file structure will exist just like a normal Ubuntu box. But you can also see your C drive under /mnt/C. Anyway you get the picture and it's worth checking out. Well wait, let me mention this. You may have to have a pretty hefty system to run this. I'm currently using about 1.5 GB of RAM on my XP box since I started this up. It runs a bit slow even on this computer, which is not a slow machine. However, it's still fun. GO GO GO! BTW, I wrote this in the Linux version of FireFox. I win!
